Dapper selections Iz it noir!<\/strong> consist of Pinot Noir (50%), Grenache – Tai Rosso (40%) and Merlot (10%). The grapes come from 60-year-old vineyards, where the soil is dominated by volcanic tuff and basalt. They are located at an altitude of 350-500 m above Montecchio Maggiore, in the hinterland of Vicenza, and are part of the Tenuta l’Armonia<\/a> estate. Fermentation, maceration for 14 days and maturation (10 months) took place in inox tanks.<\/p>\n

In June of the following year, the wine is bottled and then rested in the bottles for another year. The wine is light ruby in colour. Notes of black berries and forest undergrowth. The wine’s pleasant acids provide freshness, while blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants and ripe plums contribute to its body. Tannins are extremely soft while the aftertaste is long and beautifully complex. A subtle red wine that will delight lovers of lighter Burgundies without the influence of wooden barrel. Perfect companio to game dishes, roasts and aged beef steaks.<\/p>\n

Tenuta l’Armonia – Andrea Pendin<\/span><\/h5>\n

Andrea Pendin graduated in gastronomy in 2007 and started his career in gastronomy. In 2010 he launched the Tenuta l’Armonia project, with the aim of producing grapes and wine from local indigenous varieties, as well as international varieties historically present in the area. The philosophy is to work without use of phytopharmaceuticals, i.e. to create and maintain biodiversity and balance in a sustainable way. They follow an organic and biodynamic approach with many innovative solutions. Grapes are vinified in a well-equipped cellar with its own small laboratory, which allows constant monitoring of the vinifications and development of the wines. The project has also attracted a few young wine growers who are working their vineyards according to the same or similar principles. Together they now cultivate 25 hectares of vineyards.<\/p>\n

Biodiversity<\/h5>\n

In addition to the vineyards, the estate has olive trees, a large vegetable garden and experimentally produces several old varieties of wheat, which are milled into different flours.<\/p>\n

Vineyards<\/span><\/h5>\n

The vines grow on slopes with different substrate structures. Three volcanic rocks predominate: tuff, basalt and a combination of basalt and limestone. A small part of the vineyards, mainly chenin blanc, grow on an old soil dominated by calcareous marine alluvium. Pruning is relatively late – in February and March – to reduce pathogen infiltration into the wood of the vine. Sulphur and copper are used when really needed, otherwise sprays made with plant extracts are used to protect and promote natural resistance.<\/p>\n

Cellar<\/h5>\n

The minimalist approach is also practised in the cellar. Fermentations are spontaneous. The wines are mainly aged in inox containers and used barrels, in some cases in clay “amphorae”. Wines are not filtered before bottling and the sulphite addition is very low.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

An excellent variety of Chardonnay and Durella, indigenous to the Veneto region. The colour is moderate amber. On the nose there is minerality (slightly kerosene-ish), yeastiness, ripe fruit: apples, pears, yellow peach, which later develops into dried fruit, slight spices and almonds. Taste: intense, mineral, ripe apples, pears, almonds. Durella gives the wine exceptionally fine acids.
