Bressan No.3<\/a> consists of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Schioppettino. It is a personal interpretation, born of the fierce passion and stubborn determination of Fulvio Luca Bressan. Furthermore it is the rare and noble result of a lovingly selected combination of red wines of the highest rank. A perfect marriage of international varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir together with a typical Friulian variety, the famous Schioppettino. Firm and aristocratic, of exceptional elegance, characteristic structure and superb calibre, with a full, warm flavour rounded off by an aromatic, silky intensity.<\/p>\n

After harvesting, the grapes are crushed, gently pressed and left to macerate and ferment for a longer period. The malolactic fermentation takes place in old barriques, after which the wine matures for at least a year in large (2000 L) barrels. Bottling is followed by a further 15 months of ageing (in bottles) in ideal cellar conditions.<\/p>\n

Estate<\/h5>\n

The Bressan<\/a> estate is located in Farra d’Isonzo in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The origins date back to 1726, under the then master Giacomo Bressan. From one generation to the next we come to Nereo (Fulvio’s father), and above all Fulvio. Latter, after finishing his university studies, devoted himself to running the estate and establishing himself internationally with his wife Elena Misina. Fulvio was appointed “nobleman of the wines of Friuli” by Duke Emilio I.<\/p>\n

They cultivate 20 hectares of vineyards on pebbles of sun, which have the peculiarity of accumulating heat during the day and releasing it in the evening. Fulvio Bressan’s ideas for wine production are very clear. No chemical intervention in the vineyard, just respect for nature. In the cellar, only indigenous yeasts and traditional vinification, in accordance with a long tradition that rejects modern invasive oenological practices. The vineyards include Schioppettino, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pignol, Malvasia, Verduzzo and Rebula. The wine is a vivid ruby red colour. On the nose, there are fruity, spicy and slightly herbal notes. Mouth: very nice acidity, pronounced but soft tannins, blueberries, blackberries, ripe raspberries, ripe or even prunes, blackcurrants, spices. Full body. A long taste.
